Most PD Hulls Build Record (well, sort of attempted)
By David "Shorty" Routh
2-7-07 attempted record 100 hulls

My girl scout troop is getting ready to participate in an event where we are expected to represent a country, and bring a number of "swaps". The swaps are small things that the girls make, then at at the event they trade them to girls from other troops. If you google "girl scout swaps", you will see many different ideas. Being a puddle ducker, could I have thought of anything else besides a minature PDRacer ? The hull is from half of a tongue depressor, and the mast is from a skewer stick.

I talked to the event organizer and said I wanted to represent the united states. She said nope, already taken, I needed to pick another country. So I said OK, I'll represent Texas. You don know that Texas is the only state which has defeated another country, right? Again, she said couldn't do that either. Since both my kids are half Australian, figured that would be a good country to represent, plus I could steal Midge's cool graphic. :)

When we trade them, we give them a safety pin so they can pin it thru the sail and their shirt.

Made 100 hulls and glued masts to them.

The girls cut out the sails

And the painting began.

Now lets see how I can justify these as legit class legal hulls, especially tough since they are only 2D... Hmmm.... :)

Here we are at the 2008 World Championships in Australia. This is the final race in a week long battle between life long friends Peter and Michael, who have been duking it out, neck and neck for first place. There is extra tension this morning because of an unresolved rules clarification, Michael had been eating refried beans coninuously during the week long racing event with the expected result, and Peter's official protest on the illegal use of auxilary propulsion is still undecided. In a fit of anger, Peter vowed that Michael would be sorry soon enough....

Peter's american cousin Bubba caught the overnight flight to Australia. He didn't know which one was Michael, so he just destroyed every puddle duck he could find, which unfortunately included Peter & his boat as well.

Funeral services will be held as soon as the DNA results are available.
