Finding Leaks In Your Airboxes
By David "Shorty" Routh

Airboxes are usually "mostly" air tight, but almost always have a leak in them. This is one technique to find those leaks. The pictures are from reparing my Holder 12.

Basically what you are going to do is put pressurized air inside the airtight compartment, then spray soapy water everywhere to find the leak, just like you would if you had a car tire with a leak. I used lots of duct tape to seal around my shopvac hose - note that the hose is on the blower side of the shopvac.

Next I sprayed a solution of dish soap and water in various spots where leaks might be happening. When you find a leak, it will make bubbles.

You might want to test your solution ahead of time to make sure it bubbles up.
